Ric J. Edmiston: A brief bio:

Starting in the late 70’s, Ric was playing on the street and recording in Toronto and then in Maine without any real clue as to what he was doing. The 80’s found him recording a song with the group “Schooner Fare” on Outer Green Records (“But Were I Born A Sailor“ on the album (now CD) “Closer to The Wind“) and studying music at The University of Maine and at the Berklee Collage of Music in Boston, to no avail. He finally released a CD in 1992 that was a mix of original folk and jazz tunes on Outer Green Records. (“Lackee’s Magnito: S.O.X.O.”) He also recorded several tunes with Tom Rowe on Rowe’s solo effort “Whistlin’ Up A Storm”. (On Outer Green Records) He recorded a new CD in 2001 in Tallahassee, Florida, on his own label “Bongseye Music”. After going to Italy for the winter, conceiving and having a baby with his wife of 16 years, and waiting until the time was “just right”, he released it (“Good Grief”) officially, in 2004. One of the songs is included on a Cascades Recording of Tallahassee artists titled “Tales from The Rascal Yard” . He is now working on an EP due for release in fall 2008.

Ric has been described as “guitar wizard”, “finger picking madman” and a lot of words not suitable to print. Little of this is true, but that is how he has been described.

He is the winner of the 2008 Gamble Rodgers Festival finger picking contest, and will be performing on the main stage in 2009.
